Commission hopes for greater involvement in legal immigration between Europe and Africa - Stronger maritime borders to combat illegal immigration

Brussels, 30/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Commission published two communications, one of which aims to improve the management of legal immigration towards Europe and to Africa, mainly through a rational system of employment supply and demand. The other describes a number of instruments for improving integrated European management of the EU's maritime borders in order to combat illegal immigration.
