Bank's Annual Forum in Athens

Luxemburg, 18/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - From 18 to 20 October, the European Investment Bank (EIB) Board of Directors will meet in Athens. This will give the Board the opportunity to visit projects financed by the Bank in Greece (the Athens ring road, the liquefied natural gas terminal at Revythoussa and the Athens metro). At the same time, the EIB is holding its Annual Forum in the Greek capital. The theme is “South-East Europe - A region on the move” and Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis will deliver a speech. Given that the Board and President Philippe Maystadt will be present in Athens, the Bank will use the occasion to conclude a number of operations, with planned new loan signatures expected to reach €390 million, directed at both public and private sector investments.
