Pascal Lamy reaffirms that agricultural deadlock at G-6 is not insurmountable and warns against bilateral temptation

Brussels, 18/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - Invited to take stock of progress in the Doha talks before the European Parliament Committee on International Trade chaired by Enrique Baron Crespo (PES, Spain), WTO Director General Pascal Lamy reasserted on Tuesday that the agricultural deadlock within the G-6 (EU, USA, Brazil, India, Australia and Japan), which was at the origin of the “pause” in multilateral talks since end July this year, was “not insurmountable”.
