Lahti Summit to focus on energy and future of Strategic Partnership with Russia - Presidency to raise 'EU concerns' with Vladimir Putin

Brussels, 18/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - Energy policy and innovation are the two officials subjects of discussion at the informal European Council in Lahti (Finland) on Friday 20 October, but it is clear that energy relations with Moscow and the future of the EU's Strategic Partnership with Russia will be the real areas of concern to the twenty-five EU Member States' heads of state at the Summit, scheduled to close on Friday with a dinner with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
