18/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Greens/EFA Group laments the death of Solange Fernex, who had been part of the first group of Greens at the European Parliament in 1989. MEPs recall her strong commitment against civilian and military nuclear policy, from Chernobyl to Hiroshima, and her fight for organic farming and against over-fishing. They recall that she had introduced the notion of pacific conflict settlement, which greatly marked debates among European Greens.
