Brussels, 28/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 28 June, the Commission decided to bring Italy before the European Court of Justice (ECJ), as the country's national legislation maintains special rights which are felt to be too great to protect the economic interests of privatised companies. The Italian law Nr 350 of December 2003 allows privatised companies such as Telecom Italia, ENI and ENEL to use these prerogatives in the case of any threat to the vital interests of the State.
