BBVA, the second largest bank in Spain, will be spending USD 2.64 billion in cash for the acquisition of two Texas banks: TEXAS REGIONAL BANCSHARES (for USD 2.164 billion - 38.90 dollars per share) and STATE NATIONAL BANCSHARES (for USD 480 million - 38.50 dollars per share). TEXAS REGIONAL BANCSHARES, whose assets have been valued at USD 6.6 billion, owns 77 agencies in Texas. STATE NATIONAL BANCSHARES owns 44 agencies and its assets have been valued at USD 1.6 billion.
