Commission approves acquisition of BNL by BNP Paribas

Brussels, 29/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 28 March, the Commission approved the proposed acquisition of the Italian banking group Banca Nazionale del Livorno (BNL) by BNP Paribas (BNPP), concluding that the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA)or any substantial part of it.
