Suez calls on Commission to analyse role of Italian state in Enel's management

Brussels, 29/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The French energy group Suez wrote to Charlie McCreevy, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, on 27 March, asking him to investigate the highly dominant role of the Italian state in the Enel electricity company. The Italian State has a 31% stake in Enel and can in effect limit the voting rights of a new shareholder to 3%.
