Commissioner Louis Michel calls for humanitarian aid efforts in the Palestinian territories to be respected

Brussels, 17/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - Reacting to the kidnap of foreign humanitarian aid workers held hostage by Palestinian militants protesting against the Israeli raid in the West Bank (and freed on 15 March), European Development Policy and Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Louis Michel deplored such actions and, on Thursday, published a press release. “I regret that once again humanitarian aid workers have been the target of kidnappings, although we welcome their rapid release.
