The British NATIONAL GRID (turnover $2.5 billion in 2004) now ranks third in the energy sector in the United States thanks to the acquisition of KEYSPAN (turnover $6.7 billion in 2004) for the sum of $11.8 billion (including debt of 4.5 billion). It will recover 2.6 million customers in the gas sector and 1.1 million in the electricity sector, thus doubling its clientele with 7.5 million households.
