Commission prepares to examine Mittal's takeover bid for Arcelor, “but from the angle of competition”

Brussels, 31/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, who launched a takeover bid for his European competitor Arcelor and who is currently travelling around Europe to win support for the bid¸ is due to meet European Commissioners for Competition and Industry, Neelie Kroes and Günter Verheugen in Brussels on Wednesday.
