Council approves six Member States' Stability and Convergence Programmes and asks Hungary to provide further information

Brussels, 24/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Going along with the European Commission's analysis, the ECOFIN Council adopted opinions on the Convergence Programmes of Sweden, Denmark, Slovakia and the Czech Republic and Finland's Stability Programme. It also supported the European Commission's assessment of the economic situation in Hungary, asking the country to provide a more detailed update of its Convergence Programme before the end of August (see Europe 9107).
