Council amends regulation on statistics used as part of excessive deficit proceedings

Brussels, 16/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 12 December, the Council of the EU adopted, without debate, modifications to regulation 3605/93 on the quality of statistical data in the context of excessive deficit proceedings. These changes referred to the two first axes of the Commission's strategy, as announced in its communication of 22 December 2004 (EUROPE 8856).
