Brussels, 16/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Council welcomed the unfolding of elections on 15 December in Iraq which are “a further step towards democracy and stability” in the country, and urged for a government to be rapidly formed. Iraq remains “divided”, the EU Heads of State and Government acknowledged, calling on all parties to work in favour of reconciliation of the country.
