Brussels, 08/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Margot Wallström, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for communication strategy, took part, on 6 December in Brussels, at the launch of the campaign for promoting the free telephone line and Internet site, Europe Direct. The promotional campaign will extend from Brussels to Ljubljana crossing several member countries, and other initiatives are foreseen throughout the EU in coming weeks. The campaign is launched while the Europe Direct Contact Centre service celebrates its 100,000th request for information this year - an all-time record. The service aims to answer all questions that citizens wish to ask about the EU, in twenty official Union languages.
