Commission requires partial repayment of aid for alumina production in France, Ireland and Italy

Brussels, 08/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on Wednesday that for the period from 3/2/02 to 30/12/03, part of the total exemptions from excise duty on mineral oils used as fuel for alumina production (used to make aluminium) Given that the exemptions had been authorised under EU rules on excise duties, the Commission considers that until publication of its decision to launch a formal investigation procedure (Official Journal of 2 February 2002) the beneficiaries...
