Commission condemns escalating violence and increasing insecurity in Darfur, in violation of ceasefire

Brussels, 30/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has strongly condemned the latest escalation of violence and growing insecurity in the Darfur (West Darfur) which has taken place since the middle of September.

In a press release, Louis Michel, the European Commissioner for development policy and humanitarian aid, says: “Almost three million people, which is half of the population of Darfur, are living in the greatest of danger because of this conflict which has gone on too...
