21/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - What do you expect from the future German government? To this question, which was put to him by Wednesday's Figaro, the President of the European Central Bank, answered (our translation): "we are managing the currency for the good of all the inhabitants of the euro zone (...). Our message to all the governments, wherever their sensibilities lie, is this: be as determined as you can to undertake the structural reforms necessary (...). For our part, we are doing all that we can to maintain price stability, to keep inflation forecasts down despite the turbulence we are experiencing at the moment, so that we can have rates (...) which are as favourable as possible to investment and the creation of jobs".
