Brussels, 21/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - Representatives from the 47 Liberal Democrat parties taking part on 23-24 September in Bratislava at the 26th annual congress of the Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR) which, as indicated in a press release, will adopt a Liberal Democrat ten point plan on competitiveness in Europe, under the slogan “Releasing Europe' Potential - Working together for a Competitive Europe”. The congress will elect a successor to the president of the ELDR, the German Werner Hoye: Annemie Neyts MEP from Belgium and Jozias Van Aartsen from the Netherlands are candidates. Participants include: the president of the ALDE group at the EP, Graham Watson, European Commissioners, Rehn and Kallas, and the Belgian and Danish prime ministers, Verhofstadt and Rasmussen.
