Talks between Europeans and South Americans resume on free trade agreement

Brussels, 05/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, during the first ministerial meeting between the two parties since talks failed in Lisbon in October 2004 (EUROPE 8812), the European Union and Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) decided to resume talks early next year with a view to concluding a trade, cooperation and political dialogue agreement aimed at creating the broadest free trade area in the world, with a market of over 680 million people and bilateral trade worth $40...
