Doubling of aid to Africa is welcomed as major success to G8 summit - José Manuel Barroso says EU to assume responsibility for most of aid supplement

Brussels, 11/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - Increase of aid to poor countries of USD 50bn a year up to 2010, particularly the doubling of aid promised to Africa (and 3 billion for the Palestinian Authority: EUROPE 8987) constituted, the major success (according to the general opinion) at the G8 summit, even if some quarters would have liked to see more aid.
