EP calls for substantial increase in “Life Plus” allocation to give EU means to finance Natura 2000

Strasbourg, 11/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament is calling for a substantial rise in funding allocated to the environmental protection instrument for 2007-2013 (Life Plus), failing which, MEPs say, the EU will not have the financial means necessary for ensuring the survival of the pan-European Natura 2000 network of protected natural habitats, established under the Habitats Directive.
