Borrell, Schulz, Rasmussen and Wallström join Hollande for campaign at Assemblée Nationale on 3 May

Brussels, 27/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - In line with their commitment to take on an active role in the “yes” campaign on the European Constitution in France, several members of the Socialist group of the European Parliament will take part in a meeting at the Assemblée Nationale in Paris on 3 May, with the President of the French Parti Socialiste François Hollande, leaders of the socialist and social-democrat family within the national parliaments, figures who were involved in drawing up the European Constitution and the European Commissioner for Communication, Margot Wallström, according to a press release. The President of the Socialist Group, Martin Schulz, who launched the initiative, stresses that “this Constitution is the key to advancing social policy in France and all over Europe”, and that “France is indispensable to Europe's future”. Also attending the meeting at the French parliament will be the President of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell, and MEP Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, President of the Party of European Socialists and former Prime Minister of Denmark.
