Brussels, 04/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Regional Development Committee of the European Parliament and the Territorial Regional Cohesion Policy Committee (Coter) of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) are organising on 6 April in Brussels a conference on the theme of “the future for European Cohesion Policy and its Funding”. CoR President Peter Straub, the presidents of the different committees, Gerardo Galeote Quecedo (EPP-ED, Spain, for the EP) and Jean-Claude Van Cauwenberghe (PES, Belgium, for CoR), Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Hübner and the Luxembourg minister for European affairs Nicolas Schmit will open the work. Three sessions will follow on: - regional policy: Community integration tool? ; - mobilising towns and regions in support of cohesion; - cohesion policy and financial perspectives.
