Brussels, 04/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - Bavarian minister president, Edmund Stoiber, met the European Commission president, José Manuel Barroso on Monday, as well as the vice president Gunther Verheugen (industry) and Commissioner of the information society and media, Viviane Reding., with whom he discussed the future of public radio/television broadcasting in Germany. The exchange of views with Mr Barroso focused on the Lisbon strategy, the “services directive”, financial perspectives for 2007-13 and ratification of the European Constitution. Stoiber also met leading members of the Germany EPP-ED group at the European Parliament and spoke at the Summit of Presidents of the Parliamentary Groups from the EPP-ED family from the 25 Member States of the EU, which took place on Monday in Brussels (EUROPE 8918).
