Brussels, 22/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has opened a second phase of inquiry into a subsidy of EUR 70 million paid by the Land of Bavaria for the construction of an ethylene pipeline. After examination, the Commission considers that the subsidy is State aid, and not a general infrastructure measure, and it is not certain that the project contributes to improving the environment, transport safety and road congestion.
