70 billion EUR to fight decline of European scientific empire

Brussels, 16/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - At the presentation of his predecessor Philippe Busquin's book on the “Decline of the European Scientific Empire” to the press in Brussels on Tuesday, the Commissioner Janez Potocnik confirmed that the financial envelope he is to propose for the 7th framework programme for research and development will be 70 billion EUR (not 30 billion as recently claimed by the French magazine La Recherche).
