16/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - In our article on Neelie Kroes' contribution to the EP economic and monetary committee (EUROPE yesterday p 12), exoneration of local public and hospital services, as indicated by the European Commissioner for Competition, would involve the obligation of notification to the Commission of compensation awarded to public services in these sectors and not their exclusion from the services directive's field of application in the internal market.
