16/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - By adopting during the March plenary session, the opinion of Antonello Pezzini (Employers Group, Italy) on the “Multiannual programme for enterprise and entrepreneurship, and in particularly for SMEs (2001-05), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) highlighted the new EU Member States. Therefore, the EESC committee is calling for: a series of meetings with representatives from SME organisations to identify the specific problems of the new Member States and a fourth European conference on micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises to be organised to explore “solutions to the most pressing issues raised by the new Member States in the field of enterprise policy”.
