Brussels, 28/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the recommendation of Claudio Martini (PES, Italy) during the 23 February plenary, on the Commission's White Paper on Services of General Interest, the Committee of the Regions is calling for the, “guarantee of the freedom to the local and regional authorities to choose modalities for managing services” by excluding EU legislative initiatives limiting this freedom.
