Concern at where research funding will come from - Commission to defend doubling of credit

Strasbourg, 28/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - In answer to an oral question from British Conservative Giles Bryan Chichester, president of the committee on research at the EP, on the future funding of research in Europe, the European Commission stated in Strasbourg last Thursday that it would do all in its power to convince the Member States to double the credits of the 7th framework research programme. The proposal on the 7th R&D programme is expected for 6 April.
