Commission authorises state aid for “stranded costs” in Slovenian electricity sector but opens formal investigation into preferential dispatching of electricity

Brussels, 03/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised compensation for so-called “stranded costs” for three Slovenian electricity generators. The programme is aimed at mitigating the difficulties faced by a number of power plants during the process of liberalisation of the electricity sector.
