03/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Edit Bauer, Angelika Niebler and Marie Panayotopoulos (EPP-ED) are taking part in a visit of a women's rights commission from the European Parliament in Turkey. In a press conference on illiteracy, they denounced the low number of women in the workforce and polygamy but acknowledged that progress had been made on women's rights - especially on paper. (EUROPE yesterday p 4 on the much more positive verdict by PES delegation parliamentarians).
