Council extends mandates for special representatives (Great Lakes, Afghanistan, Middle East, southern Caucasus, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina)

Brussels, 03/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the Council decided by written procedure, to extend until 31 August 2005 the mandates for Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), namely: - Aldo Ajello for the African Great Lakes. Mr Ajello's mandate was extended as part of the future EU police mission in Kinshasa ("EUPOL-Kinshasa"). Ajello will be expected to provide policy orientations to the Head of this mission; - Francesc Vendrell in Afghanistan; - Marc Otte for the Middle East...
