Commission approves sale of life insurance business to Fortis

Brussels, 20/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the planned acquisition of 51% of the insurance business of the Portuguese company Banco Comercial Português (BCP) by the Netherlands-based Fortis Insurance International NV (Fortis). BCP is a banking and financial services group that is mainly active in Portugal.
