20/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - After his meeting with EU Council President Jean Asselborn (see above), the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, welcomed the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the EU to ensure that Iran's nuclear programme is conform to AIEA rules. Israel nonetheless considers that international pressure on Iran should be stepped up so that it does not avail itself of a nuclear capacity, Sharon told the press.
