Balladur amendment for strengthening French parliament powers of control

Brussels, 05/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - In Le Figaro on 5 January Edouard Balladur explained why he ha submitted a draft constitutional law to "strengthen the powers of control of the French parliament regarding European issues". The proposal, in the form of an amendment to the draft constitutional revision necessary for ratifying the European Constitutional (EUROPE yesterday p 4) stipulates that the government should submit all European documents to Parliament at the request of the president...
