Priority is on progress for directive on renewable energies and adoption of directive on end-use energy efficiency

Brussels, 04/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - Considering that energy efficiency is one of the conditions for balanced development in the context of the Lisbon process and its environmental chapter, the Luxembourg EU Presidency states in its programme that its priorities in the energy area will be to push forward the proposal for a directive on renewable energies and to adopt, in June this year, the proposal for a directive on energy services' end-use energy efficiency.
