Europeans and South Americans meet in Rio at coordinator level to discuss resumption of talks

Brussels, 01/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - After the failure of the meeting in Lisbon on 20 October this year, during which Europeans and South-Americans were unable to make negotiations result in a free trade agreement, the two parties (namely Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay for Mercosur, and the EU) are to meet on Thursday and Friday this week in Rio de Janeiro for an informal meeting at coordinator level.
