01/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - Readers of the weekly, European Voice, have chosen Hans-Gert Pöttering, President of the EPP-ED Group at the European Parliament, as "European Parliamentarian of the Year 2004". CDU member, Mr Pöttering has been MEP since the first direct European elections in June 1979, and president of the EPP-ED Group since 1999.
