Agreement to suspend Iran's uranium enrichment activities takes effect in climate of tension revived by us accusations

Brussels, 22/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - Iran confirmed on Sunday that it would suspend its uranium enrichment activities from Monday on as it had pledged to do in an agreement signed on 14 November with Germany, France and Great Britain, which are negotiating on behalf of the EU. In exchange, Europeans promised the Iranian authorities enlarged cooperation and the guarantee that Iran would be entitled to conclude its nuclear programme for civilian purposes.
