Sugar, rural development, animal transportation and agricultural research on agenda of Monday's meeting - "Fisheries" subjects, including aid regime post 2007, to be examined next day

Brussels, 19/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Agriculture and Fisheries Ministers of the Member States of the EU will meet in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday to debate various subjects, such as the reform of the sugar regime, the 2007-2013 aid programmes for rural development and fishing, and the development of research. They are set to reach agreement on a proposed compromise by the Dutch Presidency to improve transport conditions for animals being sent for slaughter.
