Commission expects to adopt proposal on liberalisation of port services after several Commissioners waive reservation about complying with social standards

Brussels, 12/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission is expected to adopt a proposal for a directive for liberalising port services. One year after the European Parliament rejected a text resulting from conciliation procedure, the proposal resumes negotiation on liberalising handling, mooring and piloting services, mainly in European ports.
