Cowen underlines contribution Egypt could make to strategic partnership for Mediterranean and Middle East

Brussels, 16/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - At the first EU/Egypt Association Council on Monday evening in Luxembourg, with the participation of the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs Agmed Maher, the president of the Council of the EU Brian Cowen welcomed in a press statement the entry into force of the association agreement during the Irish presidency (EUROPE 11 June p 11).

Mr Cowen particularly welcomed the discussion with his Egyptian counterpart on the subject of the strategic partnership...
