Brussels, 14/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Irish Presidency firmly intends to reach a political agreement on Tuesday on the highly controversial so-called "patentability of computer-implemented inventions" directive. The decision should be adopted by majority and practically without discussion with the support of the Commission but also no doubt against Germany, Belgium and Denmark and against the stance taken by the European Parliament (yesterday's EUROPE, p.9, and 13 May, p.9).
