29/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Following his election to the Greek parliament, 54-year old Communist (SYN) Alexandros Alavanos is leaving the European Parliament, where he has been an MEP since 1981. He will replaced by Nikos Chountis until the end of the current term of office.
