Parliament encourages development of "mini-crèches" in firms and flexible working hours

Brussels, 15/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption (424 votes in favour, 51 against and 37 abstentions) of the report by Portuguese Conservative Regina Bastos on reconciling professional, family and private life (see EUROPE of 5 March, p.17), the European Parliament considers that women must have the possibility to work even if they have children or wish to stay at home.

The Parliament suggests that each Member State of the enlarged EU should complete an information and awareness...
