Extraordinary Home Affairs Council Friday - After minutes of silence, Europe looks for concrete actions - co-operation of European information and police services, key to European response - INvoking the "solidarity clause"

Brussels, 15/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Ministers of the Interior will hold an extraordinary meeting in Friday 19 March, to try to bring a European response to the attacks which hit Madrid last Thursday. Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern announced this on Monday evening, having kept in touch all weekend.
