Accession request to be lodged on 22 March

Brussels, 12/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Macedonian foreign minister Ilinka Mitreva has told reporters that a delegation led by the Macedonian prime minister Branko Crvenkovski would be travelling to Dublin on 22 March to lodge Macedonia's formal request to join the EU.

The prime minister is reported to have been planning to lodge the request with the Irish Presidency on 26 February, but had to cancel the trip because the President of Macedonia, Boris Trajkovski, was killed in a plane...
